The Janiis Story

In early 2015 our founders, Jason and Blake, set out to learn how to run a property management company. They traveled across the United States, from California to Florida, to watch rental managers work. After hundreds of interviews and time spent shadowing owners, managers, and their employees, they found the most common complaints were about software. The programs available were confusing, lacked accounting, and were out of date with industry changes and trends.

The programs available were confusing, lacked accounting, and were out of date with industry changes and trends.

In early 2015, our founders, Jason Hahn, and Blake Leszczynski, set out to learn how to run a property management company. After hundreds of conversations with owners, managers, and their employees, they found the most common complaints were about software. The programs available were slow, confusing, and out of date.

Short-Term rental managers knew how they wanted to manage their rentals but the software to make doing it simple, or even possible to account for, just didn’t exist.

In late 2016, Jason and Blake co-founded Janiis, a software solution tailored for short-term and vacation rental property managers. Our approach was unique; we meticulously mapped out every process by shadowing managers in their offices, aiming to optimize and automate as much of their workload as possible. Janiis was born with a mission: to simplify the lives of all those involved in property management, from owners and managers to accountants, leads and guests.

Our initial product, Janiis Accounting, was designed to be a full accounting product that replaces and serves as a Quickbooks account for every rental unit you mange. With accounting as our base product, we can eliminate the painstakingly long process of month-end for each unit, where you have to calculate payouts for managers and owners. In Janiis, this process is automatic; providing managers with accurate financial information, instilling confidence in decision-making. We wanted owners to trust their managers, and managers to have a powerful and efficient platform for maximizing profits. By simplifying tasks ranging from channel management to accounting, we make it effortless to expand your inventory and increase profitability, all with a system that can be mastered in a single afternoon.
